One day I settled into my favorite chair in a neighborhood café,
ready for coffee, willing to chat and happy to rest for a
while. As I idly toyed with the lid of my coffee cup, I felt
the first sparkling sense of an idea that was to become BuzzNotes™.
I looked around the café and noticed fellow patrons
reading books, perusing pamphlets, studying the bulletin
board and, in their comings and goings, enriching their sense
of their surroundings.
Why not, I wondered, give businesses and nonprofits a special
coffeehouse way to bring their messages to interested local
people and passersby? What about a fresh, practical way to
add to the sense of community? Distinctive message-carrying
coffee lids will literally put the messages
on the neighbors’ lips!
What else? Companion
bookmarks,
also featuring community relevant messages from businesses
and nonprofit groups, obviously fit the mood and the tradition
of the local café. Message-bearing coffee lids and
bookmarks, word of local interest, placed in-hand, into the
neighborhood flow…
What else, again? Well, businesses present their own messages,
nonprofits present their own messages, and BuzzNotes also
matches business sponsors of nonprofit messages. This helps
the business sponsors, whom the public likes for their active
community spirit, and advances the mission of the sponsored
nonprofit organization.
But what about the café operators? I realized that
BuzzNotes message-bearing coffee lids, free of charge to
the café owners, simply replace their in-stock standard
lids during the planned time span of the each message presentation.
And café patrons look favorably on the café for
hosting the messages.
I penned many notes on a café napkin, drank more coffee,
stared out the window and discovered that BuzzNotes was born.
